Prime Video is preparing an adult animated comedy where the main character is a cat going through a midlife crisis. The trailer for the series “Kevin” is already available, with the premiere scheduled for April 20, 2026.
Kevin is a domestic cat with a neurotic personality. After breaking up with his owners, he decides to start life from scratch and moves into an animal shelter in Queens. There he meets a strange group of former house pets who help him figure himself out and understand what he really wants.
The lead role was given to Jason Schwartzman (“The Darjeeling Limited”), whose ironic tone perfectly suits the self-confident yet confused cat. Among Kevin’s new acquaintances are characters voiced by Whoopi Goldberg (“Sister Act”) and Aparna Nancherla (“BoJack Horseman”). The project was created by actress Aubrey Plaza (“Parks and Recreation”) and screenwriter Joe Wengert. Production is handled by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios.
A mix of absurdist humor, melancholy, and New York flavor. If “BoJack Horseman” asked questions about the meaning of life through a horse’s depression, “Kevin” approaches the theme of self-identity more lightly — through the prism of feline selfishness and reluctance to return home.
