Man is a strange creature. He preaches his uniqueness, carrying it throughout his life. And anyone who differs even slightly will not be considered a person, let alone a rational being. Thus, hiding behind slogans of not belonging to the human race, thousands of dark-skinned people from the indigenous populations of Africa were taken to America solely for plantation work. These people were property, objects, but not individuals. The same applies to other nationalities in the same America, and unfortunately, such orthodoxies still exist today.
What is the series Alaska Daily about?
Eileen tried to climb the career ladder with all her might. Being originally from Alaska, she understood perfectly well that such a small readership simply could not bring her the necessary fame, and therefore could not satisfy her ambitions. That’s why she left for New York – a city with millions of people and numerous publications that offered much more opportunities.
Inspired by the opportunities that opened up before her, she still found herself in a predicament: the competition was higher than anything she could have imagined, and she could not cope with it. Working as an investigative reporter, she went too far and touched on things that should not have been touched, despite all the praised "freedom of speech."
Fallen from grace, a black mark, and a return to her homeland with a firm goal to "start life anew." However, she got a job with her former boss at Alaska Daily. The very first assignment from her boss became significant. A high-profile murder of a girl belonging to the indigenous community.
The heroine faces an incredible lack of humanity towards the Indians from her own tribesmen. From their point of view, there was no crime at all, what can one expect from a "savage Indian"? And even more so from a girl. This is not an isolated case and happens often, to the detriment of the very "Burden of the White," or conversely, in its favor.

Eileen Fitzgerald –
a well-known journalist who fell from grace, previously published in one of the New York publications. She arrives in Alaska to start anew, trying to escape from condemnation. Played by Hilary Swank.
Roz Friendly –
a star of the local publication, tasked with investigating the murder of a local girl together with the newly arrived Eileen. Roz lost a family member under similar circumstances, which motivates her to continue the investigation. Played by Grace Dove.
Stanley Kornick –
the boss of the main heroine and Roz. He has known Eileen for a long time and was her first editor. Played by Jeff Perry.
Claire Mansi –
a veteran of Alaska Daily, providing assistance in the investigation of the main heroines. She tries to find a balance between raising three children and a demanding job. Played by Meredith Holzman.
