Shop for Killers
Must watch for fans of Korean action. If "My Name" impressed with its brutality and "Vincenzo" with its style, "Shop for Killers" combines the best of both worlds. Lee Dong-wook as the mysterious uncle is a role worth tuning into Disney+ for.
Premiere on Disney+ — January 17, 2024. John Ji-an is an orphan whose parents died tragically. Uncle John Jin-man (Lee Dong-wook) takes her in and raises her while managing a mysterious shopping center. Many years later, Jin-man dies, leaving Ji-an the center as an inheritance. The girl discovers the truth: the "shopping center" is an online weapons store for hired killers, and her uncle was a legendary mercenary. Now professional assassins are hunting her down, and Ji-an must defend herself using traps and knowledge she unconsciously gained from her uncle. Format — 8 episodes of ~50 minutes, dynamic action with elements of mysticism. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. If you enjoy when a heroine starts from scratch but has a map of the death maze in her head — go for it.
