Description

Premiere on Netflix took place on June 3, 2026 — all three episodes at once. "Michael Jackson: Verdict" is a documentary miniseries that revisits the 2003-2005 case on the 20th anniversary of the trial. Director Nick Green and showrunner David Herman gathered those who were inside the courtroom: jurors, prosecutors, lawyers, journalists, and people close to Jackson. Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom, and the public representation of the process was shaped through commentators — this series attempts to reconstruct the picture based on eyewitness accounts.
The tone is judicial, analytical, at times shocking. The series does not aim to justify or accuse: it shows the mechanics of a difficult process, the media storm surrounding Neverland, and the pressure on all participants. Interviews with Martin Bashir, the author of the controversial documentary "Living with Michael Jackson," and journalist Diane Diamond add context to how public opinion was formed before the trial.
Format — 3 episodes of ~60 minutes. Production — Candle True Stories. The series was released simultaneously with the biographical film "Michael" and became one of the most discussed documentary projects on Netflix in 2026, gathering 17 million views in the first 5 days.
If you watched "Leaving Neverland" or "Square One" — "Verdict" occupies the middle ground: less emotional, more procedural. Fans of true crime and courtroom documentaries will find the structure of the process interesting, and those following Jackson's legacy will see a new angle on a familiar story.
