Series plot
The story takes viewers back to the 19th century. Humanity is actively developing, new technologies are emerging, and countries that had never been visited by the civilized world are being opened. When African countries were discovered, the main character hurried to go there. From a young age, he showed a special interest in travel, believing that every person should visit different corners of the world. After all, this contributes to personal growth. By getting to know representatives of other nationalities and studying their customs, a person acquires new knowledge that can be successfully used in the future.

This is exactly what James did. He preferred to constantly be in search. He loved feeling like a pioneer. His expedition to Africa turned out to be not only very educational but also profitable. Since there, the young man found entire deposits of precious stones. As soon as this became known to others, they also set off there with a research expedition. After all, they were also eager to find treasures to get rich. But the goal that the hero pursued was somewhat different. He did all this not for himself. He was concerned about his father's future.
The man dedicated his entire life to raising his son, so he was used to denying himself everything. Now, when he started his own business, his son desperately wanted to help him. Since he understood that business development required financial resources that the family did not have. For this reason, he began searching for precious metals and stones in countries that had only recently been opened. He had to spend about 10 years on the excavations. But he did not consider the time spent lost, as he found what he was looking for. Consequently, after returning home, he could become a very wealthy and influential person.
Initially, the killers planned to get rid of James as well. However, due to his long absence from the city and various rumors, they believed that the young man had long since died. Upon returning to England and learning about everything that had happened, the hero decides to take revenge on those who took his father's life. To do this, he intends to become the richest man in the kingdom.
Main characters

James Delaney – a traveler who dedicated his life to discoveries. He planned to return to his homeland and become his father's assistant. However, after his death, he begins to engage in shipbuilding to take revenge on those who killed his relative.
Stuart Strange – the head of the East India Company. This man is characterized by a strong-willed and tough character. He is used to destroying his enemies for the sake of his own business.
Zilpha – James's half-sister. She has a calm disposition and a kind heart.
Brace – a loyal friend and assistant to the hero, whom he once saved. Now the young man intends to repay him for his kindness.
Wilton – an officer carrying out Strange's orders. He is ready to do anything to prove his loyalty to his boss.

The idea was created by Tom Hardy and his father. They developed the project for 5 years.
The hero's sister is played by Oona Chaplin. She is the granddaughter of the legendary Charlie Chaplin.
The lead actor also served as the main investor of the show.
