The Missing

On September 9, 2021, the series from three-time Oscar nominee Vadim Perelman premiered on the "KinoPoisk HD" service. This time, the maestro presents us with a film in the thriller genre, which is already interesting in itself, though difficult to watch. Fans of nerve-wracking experiences and simply well-made cinema can rejoice, as a continuation of the story is expected.
What is the series The Missing about?
Ten years ago, the Garber family experienced a tragedy – their daughter went missing. They are a wealthy and influential family, and the head of the family was able to turn the police and rescue services upside down, but achieved nothing. Lena was declared missing, searched for a long time, and eventually recognized as missing, as time goes on. Ten years is a long time, no matter how you look at it. The family has come to terms with the loss and continued to live. Their son is growing up, becoming sociable and friendly, the mother has long since calmed down, and the father is buried in work.

Days became calm and ordinary, right up until the moment she appears in their living room. The girl looks incredibly like the missing one, with the caveat of the time that has passed, directly and unequivocally claiming – she is the same Elena. But is it really so? The head of the family openly doubts, the brother does not believe her either, but he hardly remembers her, only the mother immediately and unconditionally believes the guest out of happiness. It seems like everything is set for a happy ending, but that’s not the case.
For the family, a series of nightmares and psychological pressure is just beginning, the outcome of which is one – madness. With each passing day, old stories that are better left undisturbed resurface, skeletons are pulled out of closets, long buried under tons of dust. And most importantly, it’s impossible to explain who exactly the girl is. Is she the same Elena, who went missing ten years ago, or something else, a punishment sent to the Garbers for their transgressions?

Elena – a girl who looks very much like the Garber family's daughter who went missing ten years ago. She doesn’t remember where she was or what she did all this time, but she knows everything that happened to Elena before this period. The role is played by Elizaveta Yankovskaya.
Ekaterina – the mother of the family, wife of Mikhail. From the first meeting, she recognizes her daughter in the guest, believing everything immediately and unconditionally. Later, she notices oddities in the behavior of the returned girl. The role is played by Maria Kulikova.

Mikhail – the head of the family, husband of Ekaterina, father of Sergey and the missing Elena. He doubts the validity of the claims made by the girl, having his reasons. The role is played by Vladimir Mishukov.
Sergey – the youngest of the Garber children, vaguely remembers his sister due to his young age. He claims that she is dead, not trusting the stranger. The role is played by Andrey Dudnikov.
