Gangs of London

Even cities with histories spanning thousands of years do not actually age in our understanding of the word. Yes, buildings decay, new ones are constructed in their place, or some are left as cultural monuments. The inhabitants of cities, especially large ones, are always renewing, and the ratio of young to old is always consistently unequal. London is an old city. It was founded in 47 AD by the Romans who came to conquer this territory.
What is the series Gangs of London about?
Life is bustling and boiling in large cities. Deals and contracts, small and large, among high-flying birds, middlemen, and small businesses. Work as simple clerks and office employees. Servants, ordinary citizens, and aristocrats, locals and newcomers – everyone wants to eat, preferably something tasty. Some earn an honest living, paying taxes and without unnecessary risks to their heads, while others profit off those few, putting them at risk, for which they receive their dividends for bread with butter.

These structures, illegal in most cases, have their own power and their own hierarchy, which in turn organizes them into a state within a state. But while the political map of the country has clear borders, these structures have none at all, and their management does not necessarily have to be in one place. Here in London, there just needs to be a manager who can solve emerging problems to his advantage, and thus to the advantage of the entire structure.
But there is not just one structure; there are many, and they compete with each other, so as long as there is a person who unites and considers common interests, the fragile peace between them holds. They have too much to divide, and their interests often intersect in the same plane. Such a person, Finn Wallace, recently died. Who ordered him and why is a secondary matter; the main thing is that now all those whose interests he connected suddenly stopped benefiting from cooperation, and where, in London itself, the number one city in the world! His son Sean tries to take the reins, but he is young, and his candidacy is not liked by many.

Sean Wallace is the son of the deceased head of the criminal syndicate that united many crime families into a single structure. He tries to take control of the crumbling colossus. The role is played by Joe Cole.
Alex Dumani is the son of the head of the Dumani family, who many acquaintances predict will take the laurels of the head of the conglomerate. In reality, he supports his friend Sean as the head. The role is played by Paapa Essiedu.

Elliot Finch is a young police officer who recently graduated from the academy. His chance encounter with Shannon allowed his superiors to activate him as an undercover agent. The role is played by Sope Dirisu.
Shannon Dumani is a single mother, Alex's sister. She has feelings for Elliot. The role is played by Pippa Bennett-Warner.
