The Handmaid’s Tale

Around this film, debates are ongoing. Some call it shockingly candid, while others consider it a very unsuccessful adaptation of the novel. However, this does not change the fact that the project has a huge number of fans. They all want to know when the release date of The Handmaid's Tale Season 3 will be.
Series plot
The war that broke out on the territory of the United States changed the lives of Americans. They were forced to accept new rules established by the state of Gilead. This country rose from the ashes of the former state. For some, this became a true gift of fate. But thinking people understood that they would now have to experience the full horror of a totalitarian regime. The military, who came to power, decided to impose very strict limits on all citizens.

The particular dissatisfaction of the crowd was caused by the fact that class division was reinstated. Of course, it existed before, but not in such a form. Now all women automatically became completely powerless. Moreover, they were required to wear identical clothing of a strictly defined color. Each class was assigned a special color: green for housemaids, blue and turquoise for lawful wives, and red for handmaids.

Due to the fact that many people were infected with venereal diseases during the war, this led to another terrible catastrophe. It turned out that most women after the diseases became infertile. They could not conceive a child. Naturally, scientists tried to solve this problem. But their efforts did not yield positive results. And since the wives of the ruling elite also could not conceive and give birth, it was decided to use other women who were fortunate enough to retain the ability to bear children for this purpose.
It was such girls who ended up in a special school, where their education was overseen by a cruel and despotic lady. Later, they were assigned to the homes of the wealthy, where they were to fulfill their role and bear an heir for the family. Naturally, to make the girls stand out from the crowd, they were always dressed in red clothing. Thus, everyone in the city knew who was before them. And while others considered their role honorable, the women themselves cursed the fact that they remained healthy.

Main characters

June Osborne – in the past, she was happy. But then she was separated from her beloved and her daughter. And now she must wander from one house to another and bear children for strangers. After all, she is a handmaid.
Fred Waterford – a despotic official who actively participated in creating the new regime for citizens. He is the new master of the heroine.
Yassir – helped to draft the rules for citizens. And now she is the lawful wife of Mr. Waterford. She has completely resigned herself to her position.
Aunt Lydia – is responsible for raising those who are to become handmaids. She is characterized by particular harshness.

The basis for the plot is a novel by Margaret Atwood.
