There are many prophecies that say the Messiah will come. But can anyone in our time believe in his arrival if he were to appear suddenly? He would likely be taken for an ordinary person playing a prank on others or pursuing his own selfish goals. A vivid confirmation of this is the Netflix series "Messiah," which tells the story of Jesus's appearance in the modern world.

What is the series Messiah about?
Currently, a strange long-haired guy appears on the streets of Damascus, whom believers could easily mistake for Jesus. He begins to preach and introduces himself as Isa ibn Maryam Al-Masih. And people start to believe him, not everyone, but many. Soon, Al-Masih gains followers who are ready to follow him to the ends of the earth. This inevitably attracts the attention of the intelligence services, who do not believe in biblical prophecies and other religious matters.

The Messiah is detained and interrogated, but he continues to stand firm, claiming that he is the Son of God. To prove his words, he disappears from his cell and appears in a completely different place. But this does not convince the CIA and other authorities. During the investigation, it is revealed that "Messiah" did not come from nowhere; he had previously lived under the name Payam Golshiri and is a professional con artist, one of a kind.

And it seems to confirm that Al-Masih is just a fraud playing on the feelings of believers. But things are not as simple and straightforward as they appear. Messiah Season 2 – who is who?
Al-Masih is a man born under the name Payam Golshiri. He claims to be the Messiah and preaches wherever possible. The character is played by Mehdi Dehbi ("London Has Fallen," "Tyrant," "Lily Rose").

Aviram Dahan is an Israeli intelligence officer conducting his own investigation. The role is played by Tomer Sisley ("Rabbi, Last Day," "Snake with a Thousand Cuts," "Angelique, Marquise of the Angels").
Eva Geller is a CIA operative. She firmly believes that Al-Masih is a fraud and a con artist pursuing his own goals. The role is played by Michelle Monaghan ("Mission: Impossible – Fallout," "The Disappearance of Sidney Hall," "Patriot's Day").
