Young and Strong Will Survive

Post-apocalyptic worlds have been described by various science fiction writers more than once or twice. These novels have been adapted into films repeatedly, starting perhaps with the most famous of them, "Mad Max." An alternative to it can be found in the work of Russian writer Oleg Divov, "Young and Strong Will Survive," published in 1997. In 2019, Ekaterina Krasner took on the task of filming a series based on this novel.

What is the series Young and Strong Will Survive about?
Not much time has passed since the events. An unknown virus caused the entire planet, all people, to fall asleep. Not everyone woke up. Only those who had more or less immunity. Only the young. Only the strong. But it didn't come easy for the survivors; now they remember absolutely nothing. The remnants of civilization are left with youth who remember nothing at all, neither relatives nor the very concept of "family." Now they are wild people, wearing high-tech clothing, roaming the metropolises in search of food and firewood for warmth, and for some reason, they know how to use weapons.

There is an abundance of firearms and their supplies – more than enough. Every self-respecting country made stockpiles in case of armed confrontation, and the virus that wiped out a large part of the population fueled their aggression, forcing them to kill. Moreover, by killing, people regain fragments of past memories, and the more bloody it is, the more they remember. Wars rage across the planet, with people uniting into gangs to destroy their kind, using all available means.

At the center of the plot is one of the survivors, who practiced mixed martial arts long before the incident. Perhaps this is what allowed him to possess a somewhat greater reserve of knowledge. They are mixed up, hard to separate one from another, but they guide him on how to act in different situations. The heroes must go through a difficult and thorny path to regain lost memories, passing through fire and a hail of bullets.

Gosh is a young man whose head is filled with strange and fragmented memories of everything in the world. He is obsessed with the idea of figuring them out and remembering more. The role is played by Ilya Malakov.
San Seich is an older man who still survived. He often gives advice to the group. He seems to remember more than he says. The role is played by Kirill Kyaro.
Natasha is a girl who remembers nothing but wants to change the situation for the better. She joins the hero on his journey. The role is played by Maria Lisovaya.
Gypsy is a typical representative of the new youth, also suffering from amnesia like the others, but wanting to get rid of it. The role is played by Sergey Tessler.
