Plot of the series
Masha dreams of becoming an artist. However, her parents insist that she should give up her silly dreams and just find a suitable job in the province. The only person who sincerely supports the heroine is Sergey. He believes that his beloved must realize her dream. Moreover, the young people even dream of running away together. They understand perfectly well that their parents will always be against their marriage. Since in the past, Maria's mother did everything possible to send Sergey’s father to prison. Since then, his wife has hated her fiercely and believed that the family should pay for what was done.

On the eve of the lovers' escape, something terrible happens. Maria's father hits a pedestrian with his car. He simply did not have time to brake when the person ran onto the road. Because of this, the man must go to jail. The only way to avoid this is through a bribe. However, finding such a large sum is simply beyond the means of the poor family. After all, they are poor. And then the heroine decides to seek help from Ignat. He is a local oligarch who owns a large factory. A few days earlier, the man had come to ask for the hand of the beauty, but she refused because she was in love with another.

Now the girl understood that it was through marriage that she could solve her father's problem. For his sake, she agrees to marry someone she does not love.
