Gogol

This trilogy has caused quite a stir. Therefore, it is not surprising that viewers are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the release date for the Gogol series in 2019. Many are missing the cast and are ready to continue watching and getting to know the characters with joy. But for now, the creators are quite stingy with details.

Plot of the series
Nikolai Gogol has not yet gained recognition as a writer. Therefore, he is forced to look for a way to make a living. Working as a court clerk, he begins to suffer from a strange ailment. As soon as he arrives at the crime scene, he has a seizure. During this, he sees images from the past, which are actually clues about what happened to the victim before the murder. Thanks to this, he manages to guess faster than the other detectives who the killer is.

Of course, those around him refuse to believe that the young man can actually see images from the past. Therefore, they treat him with some disdain. The only one who believes him is Yakov Petrovich. He is a well-known investigator who works for the royal family. Guro is tasked with investigating a series of murders that occurred in a small village called Dikanka. The man plans to go there with Gogol, as he sincerely believes that his talent will help in the investigation. And the writer gladly agrees to accompany him on the journey, as he strives for recognition and wants to be useful to others.

In Dikanka, he meets another investigator and his assistants and realizes that the authorities simply deny the very existence of anything supernatural. Yet it is a demon that is involved in what is currently happening in the province. Wanting to get to the truth, the young man accidentally learns that he is an unusual person himself. It turns out that his parents hid an important truth from him. He was born too weak and could die at any moment. His father and mother had previously lost several children. Therefore, in despair, they sought help from a well-known sorcerer, who was actually a powerful demon. In exchange for the souls of the unfortunate, he agreed to bring the baby back from the dead.

Main characters
Nikolai Gogol – a writer whose talent has not been recognized by anyone. He worked for some time as a court clerk, then received an offer to go to Dikanka to participate in the investigation of a series of murders.
Yakov Guro – a very famous investigator. He is known for his unconventional thinking. Being impressed by the clerk's seizures, he offers him cooperation, believing that the young man can help him.
Alexander Binh – the head of the police department located in the village. He categorically refuses to believe in the supernatural.
Leopold Bomgart – a talented doctor who currently works as a pathologist. In the past, he treated living people. But after a patient’s death, he decides to leave practice.
Elizaveta – a countess for whom the hero has warm feelings. She keeps one important secret.
Oksana – the deceased daughter of a miller who became a mermaid. She is in love with the writer.
