Beyond Death

Many scientists around the world are still grappling with the capabilities of the brain and their expansion. As is known, this organ of a person is not only responsible for consciousness but also performs a multitude of different operations simultaneously, of which the person is even unaware. For example, the ability to maintain a vertical position while walking, which a person does not even think about, is a rather complex task that requires considerable computational resources, should it be implemented in electronics or cybernetics.

Tochilin is already preparing for retirement. He is no longer interested in investigating complex and convoluted cases, in which he has excelled during his service, rightfully earning the title of the best investigator of the investigative committee. He has done his part; let the young take up the banner. His plans are disrupted by a seemingly impossible incident. The cold body of Bystrov stood up and left the morgue. On its own legs, smiling at the pathologist.

Alexey himself died, one could say, accidentally. He was hit by a train while saving a stranger who was thrown onto the tracks by hooligans. The stranger turned out to be a research associate at the Brain Institute, who helps Tomilin with his last case. Together, little by little, they uncover the identity of the living corpse, and it turns out that this is not the only case of his death. Earlier, in the orphanage where he was raised, he was struck by lightning to death. The children, frightened, hastily buried him in the sand, but the next night Alyosha returned, as if nothing had happened.
Later, while serving on a contract, he was killed in a hot spot about ten years ago, and, as it seems, not completely. Besides the very identity and story of Bystrov, they discover a hunt for him; apparently, they are not the only ones interested in the phenomenon. And most importantly, what do the Japanese have to do with it, who conducted cruel experiments on people on one of the nearby islands during the Great Patriotic War?

Gleb Valeryanovich Tochilin – a lieutenant colonel of justice, one of the best investigators, already planning to rest in retirement when he was handed a case from above that only he can handle. The role is played by Sergey Garmash.
Yulia Borisovna Demina – a research associate at the Brain Institute, saved by Bystrov. She tries to understand the phenomenon of her savior while simultaneously saving him from pursuers along with Garmash's character. The role is played by Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Alexey Vladimirovich Bystrov – a former contract serviceman who has developed a phenomenal ability to resurrect from the dead. He saves Yulia from death when hooligans push her under the train. The role is played by Viktor Dobronravov.
Ekaterina Demina – Yulia's daughter, also suffering from some inexplicable abilities and periodically finds herself at the center of events, for example, escaping from a camp among hostages, who will later be blown up in a booby-trapped building. The role is played by Olga Titova.
