The premiere on SBS and Netflix (simulcast) took place on June 26, 2026 — two episodes weekly on Fridays and Saturdays, finale on July 25. “Agent Kim is Back in Action” (김부장 / Agent Kim Reactivated) is a South Korean action-thriller adapted from the popular webtoon “Manager Kim” by Toy and Jeong Jong-taek. The main character is a humble office worker and single father Kim, who hides the past of an elite black operations agent. When his daughter Min-ji is kidnapped, he dusts off his skills and begins a hunt, stopping at nothing.
The tone is harsh, dynamic, with elements of family drama. The series does not glorify violence: every blow from Kim is a step towards saving his daughter, not a display of power. So Ji-sub returns to the action-noir genre with a charisma that keeps the audience on edge, and the plot twists remind of the Korean answer to “Taken.”
