By the Laws of Wartime is a series that reflects the events of the Great Patriotic War and shows us the true heroism of ordinary people who were ready to give everything they had for victory. Fans of patriotic domestic cinema were eagerly awaiting the continuation of the television series By the Laws of Wartime Season 4, the release date of which has not been announced, as the series was canceled.

Plot of the series
The events of this TV series cover the entire period of the Patriotic War, starting from its very beginning until victory. The story begins in Kyiv, where a department for combating war crimes was formed.

It is headed by Mirskoy, who fears that in the event of a leak of important information to the Nazis, he will be held responsible for it. To identify and uncover members of a large spy group, he unites two of his best investigators, whom he believes can handle this extremely difficult task. Svetlana and Ivan are forced to work not only within their native city but also must go to the front, where our troops are now suffering defeats, making it extremely dangerous to be there now.
The plot of the series is very interesting and intricate, as the main characters have to interrogate suspects, investigate murders, and also remember that their work is being monitored by the NKVD, whose employees are "digging" under Rokotov.

Main characters
Svetlana Yelagina is a girl with a very strong and determined character. At first glance, she may seem too cold and detached, but as events unfold, we can see that she is also capable of showing all human emotions, which are essential during wartime. Svetlana is engaged in the search for criminals, and for this, she is forced to go to the front lines, right into the combat zone.
Ivan Rokotov is an investigator who, along with Svetlana Yelagina, must deal with the investigations of the front prosecutor's office. These heroes face a very challenging task of identifying members of the spy unit. This hero understands how much depends on him, as the outcome of the investigation could affect the outcome of the war.
Nikolai Mirskoy is the head of the military prosecutor's office, who, after the war began, received orders to identify and eliminate partisan leaks of information to the enemy. It is he who comes up with the idea of uniting Svetlana and Ivan into one team to increase the chances of capturing the criminals.

It was no surprise to any viewers that there would be no continuation of this TV series, as all events received their logical conclusion at the end of Season 3.
