The trilogy made such a noise that no one was surprised to learn about the authors' intention to shoot a full-fledged multi-part film. In other words, this was quite predictable. But genre fans are sincerely glad that the show Gogol Season 2, the release date of which is still unknown, will not be canceled. Because the story is too captivating.
Plot of the series
Nikolai Gogol only dreams of becoming famous as a writer. After all, he remains an unknown author. All his creations have failed to interest readers. And so the young man can only dream of a bright future. Even Pushkin himself is currently ignoring him and does not wish to familiarize himself with the latest book he finished not long ago. For this reason, the hero wants to distract himself from writing for a while. He takes a position in the police as a scribe. The detectives who are assigned to work with Gogol are extremely dissatisfied. Because the man has one very serious professional flaw.

As soon as he arrives at a crime scene, he falls into some strange trance and begins to draw mysterious sketches. During this act, he strongly resembles a madman. Because of this, the department staff insists that he needs to change his field of work. After all, the guy is simply afraid. At least, this is what the other staff believes. But in reality, everything is somewhat different. The young man has never experienced fear. It’s just that in the places where the murder occurred, he is able to finely sense everything happening. Sometimes he is even visited by strange visions. In fact, this is why he became an outcast in society. Because he could not convince those around him that he is physically and mentally healthy.

The hero's life changes after meeting detective Yakov Guro. He works in the capital and deals with exclusively important cases. But this time, for some reason, he arrived at a crime scene that did not seem that significant. Upon learning what is happening with Nikolai, he immediately became interested and asked for permission to examine these drawings. After this, the man realized that his new acquaintance is not quite an ordinary person. He truly differs from other people. As soon as Guro understood this, he offered the young man to embark on a small journey with him.

This was to be done by the investigator from the capital and Gogol. Upon arriving at the location, the men realized that all the local residents firmly believe in the legend of the demon. They believe that he is responsible for all the deaths that have occurred. However, none of the investigators believe in such mysticism. Just like the hero. However, over time, he begins to doubt that the crimes were indeed committed by humans.
Main characters

Nikolai Gogol – a court scribe who went to Dikanka with the capital detective to investigate a series of murders.
Yakov Guro – a very renowned investigator working for the crown. He is assigned only the most convoluted cases.
Alexander Binh – heads the police department and categorically refuses to believe in the supernatural.
Leopold Bomgart – a pathologist who was a doctor in the past. But due to a mistake made in practice, he changes his profile.
Elizaveta – Gogol's love interest. A married woman who tries to resist her feelings for the hero.
Oksana – a drowned woman who appears in Nikolai's dreams. She knows who commits the murders but cannot reveal it.
