Disney+ launches "Moll — Lord of Shadows" in spring 2026, the first series in the franchise's history fully dedicated to Darth Moll — one of the most charismatic villains of "Star Wars." The premiere on April 6 shifts the action a year after the Clone Wars: Moll, having lost everything after the fall of the Republic, tries to rebuild his criminal syndicate on the untouched by the Empire planet of Janix.
The series is created by Dave Filoni (head of Lucasfilm) and works on the contrast between the thirst for revenge and the search for meaning: Moll is not just a monster, but a tragic figure trying to find his place after the betrayal of Darth Sidious. The tone is dark and pulpy, with elements of crime drama: there are no Jedi saviors, but criminal showdowns, Jedi-hunting Inquisitors, and a new apprentice — Devi Izrara. The format of 10 episodes releases two episodes weekly until May 4 (Star Wars Day).
If you watched "The Clone Wars" and were waiting for the continuation of Moll's story after his defeat on Mandalore, or "Solo" for the criminal underworld — this series is a must-watch. For comparison with other "Star Wars," watch "Ahsoka" or "The Bad Batch."
