Nishtyak

Premiere on ITV2 and ITVX took place on February 2, 2024. "Nishtyak" (G'wed) is a British sitcom, the title of which refers to the Liverpool dialect (scouse) and means "go ahead / yeah". The series tells the story of working-class teenagers from Liverpool: Rhys is a troublemaker who quotes Mother Teresa and John Steinbeck despite his age, while Christopher is a newcomer to the school whom Rhys offers to "look after". Two completely different boys become friends despite all the contradictions.
The tone is bold, sincere, with a social undertone. The series does not shy away from complex topics: grief, sex, diversity, and class differences — all presented through the lens of humor and Liverpool color. Filming took place in Merseyside in the summer of 2023.
Format — 2 seasons (6 episodes in the first, 5 in the second), the third is confirmed. The writer is Danny Kenny, a Liverpool author who wrote from his own experience. Production — Golden Path Productions. The first season became the most-watched comedy series on ITVX since the launch of "Changing Ends".
If you watched "It's a Sin" or "Skins" — "Nishtyak" is closer to the latter in energy, but with a northern English flavor. Fans of "Sex Education" and "The End of the F***ing World" will appreciate the sincerity, and those looking for a comedy with social commentary — this is a fresh voice in British television.
