Description
Lucasfilm launched "The Clone Wars" in the fall of 2008 — an animated series that transformed "The Phantom Menace" into a tragic epic and introduced fans to one of the saga's most beloved characters — Ahsoka Tano. The premiere on October 3 opens the conflict between the Republic and the Separatists: Jedi wage war across the galaxy, while their Padawans — including young Togruta Ahsoka, Anakin's apprentice — learn to be heroes in the midst of real war.
The series was created by Dave Filoni (a protégé of George Lucas) and evolves from the "child-friendly" first season to a mature political drama: it features complex moral dilemmas, war crimes, and betrayal. The format of 133 episodes (7 seasons) allowed for an expansive campaign, where each episode is a battle, diplomatic mission, or personal drama. The final season in 2020 on Disney+ became the culmination that tied the series to "Revenge of the Sith."
