The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You

The premiere on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other channels took place on October 8, 2023. "The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You" (Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidai Suki na 100-nin no Kanojo) is a Japanese anime series in the romantic comedy and harem genre, adapted from the manga by Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa. What could be worse than being rejected in a love confession? A hundred rejections! Hopeless romantic Rentaro Aijou has been rejected a hundred times. One day, the God of Love tells the guy that his terrible luck has turned around — now he is destined to meet a hundred girls who are his soulmates and are madly in love with him.
The tone is absurd, meta-textual, with elements of parody of the harem genre. The series consciously breaks the rules: instead of choosing one heroine, Rentaro honestly confesses his love to everyone, creating chaos in a harem where each girl is unique and crazy in her own way. The humor is based on exaggeration, the fourth wall, and absurd situations.
The format consists of 12 episodes in the first season (2023), the second season will be released in January 2025, and the third is announced for summer 2026. Animation is by Bibury Animation Studios. The opening is performed by the voice actors of the first five girls. Director Hikaru Sato previously worked on "Aikatsu!".
If you watched "The Quintessential Quintuplets" or "Domestic Girlfriend" — "The 100 Girlfriends" operates on a different frequency: there is no drama of choice, but there is honest polygamy and meta-humor.
