The premiere on wavve took place on June 5, 2026 — all 8 episodes at once. “The Lie We Lived In” (The Lie We Lived In / 거짓말이 사는 집) is a Korean BL thriller about a contract killer, Lee Do, who arrives at a secluded country house to eliminate Ho Dong Hwa. At the last moment, the client changes the task: instead of killing, he must keep the target captive. The situation becomes complicated when Chu Tae Jong — an old friend of Dong Hwa, arrives unexpectedly for a week-long vacation. Lee Do improvises and poses as Dong Hwa's younger brother, supposedly gone to the USA. But Tae Jong turns out to be more than just a naive guest — he is a detective who notices the smallest details and asks uncomfortable questions.
The tone is tense, dark, with an erotic undertone. The series mixes noir and BL: every conversation between Lee Do and Tae Jong is a game on the edge, where a lie can turn into a fatal mistake. The atmosphere of a confined space, where three men hide their true intentions, creates the effect of a claustrophobic thriller.
The format consists of 8 episodes of ~20–25 minutes each. Filming took place in the Korean countryside, giving the series a cold, detached visual style. Director Son Tae Gyum previously worked on “Love in the Big City” (2024) and here experiments with the genre of “romantic thriller.”
