A follow-up to v0.3.0 focused entirely on how the machines meet a Create shaft line, plus one bug fix found while testing it.
## Real Shaft Inlets
Every kinetic machine used to have a static andesite nub sitting proud of
the block face where a shaft connects. It never turned, and it visibly
stepped where it met a real Create Shaft.
— Each machine now has that shaft’s **socket bored into both faces** on its
rotation axis, a machined housing wrapped around a real opening, fully
recessed into the block instead of poking out of it.
— A **rod turns inside the bore** at the shaft’s own speed and phase, so it
holds still when unpowered and matches an attached line exactly.
— A **flange ring turns around the mouth** of any side actually joined to a
shaft.
— The rod is now **Create’s Shaft, to the pixel**; same 4×4 geometry, and it
references Create’s own textures directly, so it matches a neighbouring
Shaft exactly (including whatever resource pack you’re running) instead of
a hand-drawn look-alike.
## Coating Drum Rebuilt
The drum used to spin on a tilted axis of its own, floating next to the
shaft housings with no relationship to them. It now **rides the shaft line
itself**; barrel, stub axles, the rod in both bores, and any attached shaft
all turn together at one rate, in one direction, and stop together when the
line loses power. The barrel is rebuilt from angled slats so it reads as a
cylinder rather than a spinning box.
## Fixed: Packaging Was Destroying Pill Coatings
The packager (and the coating drum) matched pills by item type alone, so a
batch holding both **plain and sugar-coated** (or extended-release) pills of
one compound could size its output off all of them, produce the plain
variant, and **consume the coated pills to make it**; silently throwing the
coating away. Pills are now matched on their full properties, so only the
exact variant being packaged is drawn down. Two regression gametests cover
this so it can’t come back unnoticed.
Also: extractor ambience volume trimmed down, it was the loudest machine in
the room.
