A cluster of different factors can be so strong and powerful that a person's psyche may not withstand, breaking under the weight that buries it. On the other hand, if a person does endure, after some time they will only laugh at such developments, as the very will of a person becomes much stronger.
What is the series Lucky Hank about?
Meet Hank. At first glance – a quite successful American who has realized his hopes and dreams: a wife, an already grown daughter who does not cause problems for her parents, a job at a prestigious college as the head of the English department, several works published and highly praised by the public. What more does an intellectual need? But the devil, as it should be, is in the details. Constant intellectual self-examination, so characteristic of this brotherhood, has long and firmly settled in his soul a lack of self-confidence. And there are reasons, if you look at things rationally.
Fame as an author? He is nowhere near his father, who publishes much more frequently and successfully. Knowledge of English with a specialization in debates? He often encounters students who are equally skilled in this art, and if he is already of age, then these students are yesterday's children, meaning they have many more options for development. Moreover, it was precisely the debate with one of these students that caused the avalanche of problems that fell upon the main character.
In one such argument, pouring out his soul and complaining about his workplace, he clearly spoke about the mediocrity of both the school as a whole and the level of education provided there, and therefore he was told directly and ambiguously: if the level is so deplorable, then funding at the previous level is unnecessary. Why feed freeloaders? Cut your department's staff. But the problem is not so much economic as ethical: whom to fire? There are also issues at home – his wife is invited to give lectures in New York, his daughter is pregnant, and her husband has decided to stray. How will he cope with this?
