U&Drama launched on February 27, 2025, a reboot of the legendary British series from the 1980s, turning the detective formula on the island of Jersey upside down. Damien Molony plays Jim Bergerac — a former police officer who is forced to return to investigations after the murder of a wealthy woman connected to his past. Unlike the original with John Nettles, this version focuses on the hero's personal demons: alcohol, the death of his wife, and strained family relationships. Zoë Wanamaker plays the mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford (originally a male character), while Philip Glenister portrays the seasoned detective Barney Crozier. The format consists of 12 episodes of 43 minutes each, filmed on the actual island of Jersey with the same red Triumph Roadster as in the original thirty years ago. The atmosphere is "Mars" meets "Inspector Morse" on the coast: salty winds, Victorian architecture, and a close-knit community where everyone knows each other.
